Githyanki Inquisitor

Act 1 Updated 2026.05.11

Crèche Y'llek boss encounter. Ch'r'ai W'wargaz + 2 githyanki warriors in the Inquisitor's Chamber. Legendary Actions in Honour Mode. Kill the Inquisitor first — he has the most dangerous abilities.

Githyanki Inquisitor — Crèche Y’llek

Location: Inquisitor’s Chamber, Crèche Y’llek (Mountain Pass). Triggered after refusing to give the Astral Prism to Vlaakith.

Pre-Fight Checklist

  1. Trade with Jeera BEFORE entering the Inquisitor’s Chamber. Once the fight starts, the whole Crèche turns hostile.
  2. Loot the Inquisitor’s Chamber first — Diadem of Arcane Synergy (on Ardent Jhe’rezath), Necklace of Elemental Augmentation (display case).
  3. Level 5-6 recommended. Crèche fights are the hardest in Act 1.
  4. Long rest before entering.
  5. Elixir of Vigilance — githyanki have high DEX and initiative.
  6. Bring Counterspell — the Inquisitor is a spellcaster.
  7. Bring Disarming Attack (Lae’zel) — githyanki weapons are very strong.

Boss Mechanics

Strategy

Kill Order

  1. Inquisitor FIRST. He’s the damage dealer and summoner. Kill him before the warriors.
  2. Spectral Swords second. Low HP (~30), die to a single AoE or multi-attack.
  3. Warriors last. They’re strong but lack the Inquisitor’s special abilities.

AoEWarriors stand close together. Lightning Bolt / Fireball hits both.

Honour Mode Specifics

  • Mind-melting Blast is a TPK threat. AoE psychic damage (4d8+4, INT save for half). Spread out at least 6m apart. Shadowheart: use Aid pre-fight for +max HP buffer.
  • Inquisitor’s Legendary Actions: In Honour Mode, he gains Psychic Retort — when hit by a spell, he reflects Psychic damage back. This makes Magic Missile spam dangerous. Use weapon attacks on him instead.
  • Githyanki warriors hit VERY hard. 2d6+3 slashing + 1d6 psychic per swing, 2 attacks each. A single warrior can drop a sorc in one round if focused. Keep sorcs at range.
  • Don’t bring Lae’zel if you plan to side against Vlaakith. She may temporarily aggro depending on your choices. Leave her at camp if unsure.
  • Spectral Swords have resistance to non-magical damage but die fast to any AoE.

Post-Fight

  • Loot the Inquisitor’s Chamber: Diadem of Arcane Synergy, Necklace of Elemental Augmentation, Astral Prism (story item).
  • Enter the Astral Prism → major story sequence → Vlaakith confrontation.
  • The Crèche turns fully hostile after this fight. You can fight your way out or fast-travel.
  • Lae’zel’s personal quest advances significantly after this encounter.
